Nancy is a Licensed
Professional Counselor, in private practice in Houston since
June 2003. Prior to opening her office, she worked as a
family counselor for Memorial Hermann Hospital's Neurological
Trauma Intensive Care Unit, providing emotional support and
crisis intervention services to family members of critically
ill/injured patients (e.g. stroke, brain hemorrhage, head
injury). In June, 2001, she earned Memorial Hermann's
Hero Award for exemplary service during the aftermath of
tropical storm Allison.
Nancy has worked with
adult, adolescent, child, and family populations experiencing
anxiety, mood, and personality disorders, as well as with
survivors of trauma, grief and bereavement, childhood sexual
abuse, and domestic violence. Her volunteer work has
included rape crisis intervention for the Montgomery County
Women's Center and facilitation of bereavement groups for
Hospice Brazos County. Nancy also has personal experience
caring for a daughter with childhood cancer.
Nancy earned her
Master's of Science degree in Psychology from Texas A&M
University in 1998, majoring in Clinical Psychology, with
specializations in Health Psychology and Clinical
Child/Pediatric Psychology. She graduated, summa cum
laude, with a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Sam
Houston State University in 1994. She is happily married
and the mother of five children ranging from 14 to 32 years.
